WHAT IS
Reiki?

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words:
Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is
"life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit creating many
beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that
everyone can use. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or
therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Some Frequently Asked Questions About Reiki:
What is Reiki?
Reiki is the name given to ancient hands-on system of natural healing for body and mind.
It is a system used for stress reduction and relaxation.
Where did it come from?
Reiki as we know it today came from Japan. Dr. Mikao Usui is credited with teaching and developing a system of teaching and practicing Reiki in Japan. In the mid 1920's,
Dr. Usui met Dr. Chujiro Hayashi and together they worked to spread the use of Reiki and
treated many people. Reiki was brought to the West by Mrs. Hawayo Takata
who was born in Hawaii to Japanese parents. It continues to evolve and expand,
including the evolution of Holy Fire Reiki.
Who discovered it?
No one had to invent or discover it, Reiki has always been readily available,
but credit for making it known and used again is given to Dr. Usui. He became reacquainted
with the energy after 21 days of fasting and meditation on Mt. Kurama in Japan.
Is Reiki a religion?
No. Reiki does not require you to change or modify your religious beliefs.
It can even strengthen your chosen spirituality. People from all religious backgrounds
make up the body of Reiki practitioners, teachers, and Reiki clients.
How does one receive Reiki?
Receiving Reiki is pleasant and simple. If you have given permission to your practitioner
to give you a Reiki session, you only need to relax, lie or sit down in a comfortable position,
while remaining fully clothed. Your Reiki practitioner will go through a series of light hand
placements above or on different parts of your body.
Do you feel anything while receiving Reiki?
Receiving a Reiki treatment is a personal experience
dependent on your needs and intention. Your session can be different from that of others.
The most common experience is that of feeling deeply relaxed. Some people feel sleepy
as Reiki addresses the person's feelings of stress and worry. You may feel
your practitioner's hands heating up and sometimes they may vibrate.
Some people report seeing colors or lights. Regardless of the experience, a Reiki treatment
is a wonderful and soothing experience. Even if you do not experience any of these sensations the treatment is working. Reiki works for you whether you feel it or not,
and it will always flow to where it is most needed.
Can Reiki harm me?
Reiki can never cause harm and works to bring about positive changes.
Will Reiki interfere with my medical treatments?
No. Reiki is a complementary therapy that is being used by many doctors and
cancer centers. It is in no way, shape, or form a substitute for your doctor's treatment.
Your Reiki practitioner cannot treat, diagnose, or recommend a particular way of action for your particular condition. You are always urged to consult, receive treatment from,
and follow your doctor's recommendations.
How does Reiki work?
The Reiki energy is passed to the client through the Reiki practitioner, by the placement of
his/ her hands. This activates the flow of this beautiful, vibrant, and soothing universal energy, allowing it to flow where it is needed most. Reiki will work whether or not
the person believes it. However, if you are not open or receptive to this energy, you may not receive its full benefit. It is important to establish an intention of what you would like,
rather than what you EXPECT this energy to do for you. When you set an intention,
the treatment will address that specific need.
Who can receive Reiki?
Reiki can benefit all, including children, pets, and plants. This gift of increased energy and vitality is available to all. Level II practitioners can also send distance Reiki to others.

WHAT IS
S.R.T.?
Spiritual Response Therapy (or S.R.T.) is an energy healing modality used to clear "programming," the negative energies and beliefs we carry around
which are at the core of our longstanding problems.
This energy work clears blocks, interference, and programs on a spiritual level
that may be preventing one from being successful in all areas of life.
It is quick and effective, and can be done without the client being present.
S.R.T. uses dowsing to bypass the conscious mind and its negative programming and establish connection with the subconscious and inner guidance. As negative programs and blocks are identified,
they are cleared and replaced with positive energy and inner peace.
This clearing aids you in reaching your highest potential.
